A fourth caution: cockpits and control panels
The screen problem has a more serious cousin worth naming. Pilots are generally advised against polarized lenses because they can wash out the LCD instruments in a cockpit and interfere with the reflective coatings on some canopy and windscreen materials — not what you want when reading an altimeter. The same logic applies to heavy-machinery and crane operators watching digital load displays, and to anyone whose work depends on an instrument panel.
